=======================================================
I'm starting this Thread as a dedication to the '62 Chevrolet Truck. I have alot of of various original dealer/Chevrolet literature related to the 1962 truck I obtained from a fellow member on the board here (aerotruk63) "Thanks again Bud!" .... and some goodies I have obtained myself or will be obtaining in the future.. I will be posting more stuff soon so be patient. ======================================================= http://www.bowtiebits.com/store/grap...duct_2400P.jpg The 1962 Chevrolet pickups featured a new hood and grille style. An optional alternator and directional signals were made standard equipment in all but one series. The pickup line continued to consist of the Corvair, 6 1/2- and 8-foot Fleetsides and Stepsides, the 8-foot Stepside 3/4-ton and the 9 foot Stepside one-ton. Engine options for Series C10 through C30 included the standard 235.5 cubic inch six and the optional 283 cubic inch 160 horsepower V-8. New modern hood without oval openings as in previous years. Character line around body is now continued around sides and front of hood. Parklamp lens is mounted in similar location surrounded by aluminum bezel. Turnsignals are now standard equipment. Grill is similar except center oval has 9 rectangular openings made from 2 vertical and 2 horizontal bars. Lower bar again has CHEVROLET embossed. Single headlamps are now used surrounded by large ribbed bezels. Custom cab trucks trim extended from front fender to rear of bed on fleetside models. A second strip of trim branched off of door trim and extended to rear of bed. Side emblems consist of a red bowtie and the series designation on top of a vertically ribbed background. http://www.state-flags-usa.com/nc.gifhttps://2tydsa.bay.livefilestore.com...Pro_Street.gifhttp://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...stian_flag.gif |

Chevrolet cars and trucks are put through their paces in various tests shown in these two Chevy promotional sales films from 1962 and 1963. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4905163295A48D8B I watched them all and loved them. I love these classic comercial ads. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: A Segment In Chevrolet History - The 1962 Chevrolet Truck
It's interesting that the Chevy Trucks promo thing with the silhouettes has the old-style '60-'61 hood for the Diesel cab, the stake bed and the pick-up, but has the '62 hood for the dump truck and the Suburban.

Great idea for a year and make specific thread. Might encourage others to scan and share their literature.
