I finally pulled the 6.0/4l80 out and took them to my dad's to get them cleaned and separated

Here it is cleaned,painted and mocked up. The engine mounts are dirty dingo sliders and I'm using a Cadillac ctsv pan kit to keep the bottom of the pan up above the crossmember and the headers are stainless cheapies from ebay

I started on my harness going off the lt1swap site for info. And I ordered a bussman fuse block, check engine light and all the necessary pins to wire up the fuseblock. I'm a lot further done with the harness I just don't have any current photos. And the fuseblock is pre wired now I just need to buy some loom for the harness and connect the fuseblock to it. I also had my pcm reflashed and it's ready to go.

So the ls swaps pretty much ready to go other than final harness work. I ordered a Blazer gas tank kit for an 87-91 tbi truck and bought a ac Delco ep 381 fuel pump stock replacement for a 96-97 Tahoe. It flows the same as an ls pump and literally fits and plugs right into the 87 sending unit. I'm planning on using the factory fuel lines from a 88 suburban my friend has because they'll connect right to the sending unit and then I can install them on the frame rail like factory. Im running a corvette regulator / filter in line and will splice that in when the time comes. This is the only pic I have of it at the moment. I'm going to pull the factory crossmembers from the 88 suburban as well to make the install easier. As you can see in the photo I have to relocate my pass shock because its in the way.

Since I'm waiting to install the ls swap I went ahead and ordered the rear flip kit. And finally lowered this thing! I didn't take any install pics but everyone gets the idea haha

We didn't install the shackles because it's sits too low as is. I ordered some Monroe air shocks to help lift the rear up a bit because my hitch drags on inclines. And I ordered some shock relocate brackets from thorbros were going to build a new crossmember to relocate the shocks in front of the axle and to get a better angle for them to work well. Then I'll be able to install my Blazer tank. This is my favorite pic of the build so far

Forgive me but I could not find it in your posts. Who did you order the C notch through? I have lowered my C20 4 in the front and 4 in the back but I am looking at going lower in the rear to level it out more.

Here's how the truck sits now. I pulled the front clip and bed off and pulled the 350 out and discovered that the rust bubbles on the firewall seam are a lot worse than I had thought so the firewall patch work is going to set me back awhile but it'll be worth it in the long run. I'm also going to color change the whole firewall, cowl and probably going to pull the doors and interior so I can paint everything inside and the jambs. So much for the quick engine swap lol

I bought the rear flip kit from street pros .com it was 275 bucks shipped and I thought it was a bolt in kit because that's what the picture advertises. Well after about 2 weeks it finally showed up and it was chassis tech garbage. And a weld in kit at that but I didn't realize the pad mounts on a 14 bolt are solid and there is no real way of using a halfton style flip kit that keeps your pinion angle. So after looking around a little and the only other options were western chassis at almost 400 bucks for there kit, switch suspension which is chassis tech painted black literally, and chassis tech which is what I received I just decided I already had so we'll install it. The c notches are nice I'll give them that. The new pad mounts were a little oversized and the u bolts were completely junk. I installed everything dry and moved the truck off the 2 post over to the drive on lift and when I was loosening up the ubolts so we could center the rear end and set pinion angle they stripped loosening them so I had to buy a quality set of u bolts another 70 bucks local. If I ever do another c20/c30 drop I'd piece everything together rather then buy that junk again

Well it's been awhile since I've posted. Haven't done anything to the truck other then let it sit since August. But I finally got motivated to work on it again. So here's the start of the patch work on the firewall.

A shop local to me has a crew cab 4x4 that they shortened and put a short bed on. Just curious on the fuel tanks. Can you still use the 20 gallon tanks on the shortened crews due to the longer wheel base? Tanks would of course have to be moved forward the same amount to coincide with the shortening.

No they fit under the hump of the rear floor pan. So there isn't any room to move them forward without extensive floor work. But it's easy enough to just purchase shortbed tanks and install them.

Thanks. Just looked at a crew cab today at a salvage yard. The center cab mounts would also be in the way of moving the tanks forward. At least you would still have 32 gallons capacity by using factory tanks.

So I was browsing on Craigslist again like usual and found some low back blazer seats and console for the crewcab. For a whopping 30 bucks!!!! Not sure yet what colors or theme I'm going for but I'll be changing up the interior again
