'92 Chevy c1500 Sport

Took a few weeks but finally landed a '92 Chevy Sport Truck. It's got 129k miles, 350 mated to a 5 speed, the BYP RPO code and is in pretty good shape. Stock other than a flowmaster in place of the stock muffler. The sport truck stickers don't seem to have made it to this point. A few dents and dings here and there but a solid truck overall. Truck runs out really well. Must be the 3.42 gear it sports. this is my first OBS, but i fell in love with them when my dad had a 94 Z71 back when I was in high school. I used to love driving that truck.

Anyway, I've got to hunt down a tailgate for it since it didn't quite make the POs collision with a garage door at some point in its life. The truck could use a good buff job.

My plans are modest at this point but include a 2/4 drop with SP shocks, 20" wheels, remove that nasty purple tint, and maybe a few performance goodies (i.e. headers, chip, air cleaner assembly and true duals).

That said, here are the pics.

Nice truck! This one is a little more child friendly isn't it? Wifey and I made quite a few trips with our first-born riding between us in the rcsb I had at the time. How is the interior and what color?

It is! I have an SUV for my commute and baby toting but I think this truck just won out the commute award. It's a little worse on gas but so much more fun to drive.

The interior is in really great shape. I just added a few pics above. Sorry they're in parking garage at work.

I'm very seriously considering it but I'm not sure If i want to go cutting on the frame. I'd like to use it to tow a bit if needed (moto and auto) and I know i could with helper bags and 6" drop, but I'm not sure i want to go that route. We shall see!

If only they could've stopped bumping into things. There are a few dings - on top of the hitting a mailbox with the front and letting it roll into a garage in the rear - that are already bugging me. Its nothing major and can totally be fixed if I ever painted it but the truck was take very good care of aside from those things.

Robbie,

Tx Firefighter's 89 SWB had a nice stance. Here's a link to his build thread:

It's all in the shocks, John. ;) And I'd gladly pass along the old stuff from mine. Do you know what your drop consists of?

If its not major then get a paintless dent removal place to take them out. You'd be amazed how good these guys can be.

As for the notch and bags, that's what I did with my 98 and I couldn't be happier. The more I load it and fill the bags, the softer and nicer the ride gets. I always have either two standup jetskis or two sportbikes in the bed.

Robbie ,I have no idea how much mine is lowered but the ride is not what I would like and I have good shocks on it .

Now that's a good option I hadn't considered. The paintless dent removal. I think I'll look up someone in my area. As far as the notch and bags, I haven't pulled it our but I have some time to think on it since I'm currently putting some money into my moto.

I'll have to come inspect your truck a little closer, John. Hope to see you soon.

My plans have likely changed a bit in that I'll probably be keeping the 15s. I just wish they were wider in the rear.

Hey Robbie,

I keep checking in for "after" pictures! Have you made any plans yet? I'd love to see this truck with spindles, springs, and a flip kit. I like the 15" rims. Glad to read that you're keeping them.

Hi, Ed! Hope you're doing well. The only thing I've done thus far is put new Michelins on it (blackwalls out) and change the oil. I'm planning to remove the pinstripe, wheelwell molding and wax it this weekend. Hopefully get some new sport mirrors soon since the passenger side glass shattered. I've been too busy working on my motorcycle and driving this truck daily for anything else. It's a blast to drive! :metal:
