1977 K5 2WD Street Truck Build

I am just getting started, but I have always wanted to do a build page. I am starting with a gutted 1977 Blazer with little rust in the floors and minor body panel issues, but nothing bad. It currently has a vortec style, center bolt valve cover 350 in it, with a TH350 tranny. I have a 2005 LM7 5.3L motor and 700r4 tranny for it. It will be a carb'd setup, because I want to. Plans are for a low mean muscle truck to keep up with my wife's 1969 camaro. I don't want it to be pretty, but i do want it to be straight. It has no interior, but I have acquired a rear bench out of an early 80s suburban. I don't know what I am going to do for the front, so any input there on what fits and looks good, let me know. Here are some pics I have so far. Thanks for looking!

That rig already looks pretty cool, even with the rough paint. The steel wheels look good too. As far as the front goes, I think these rigs look good with their grills/bezels with factory like finishes. Looks like the previous owner was blacking out most of the trim on your rig, but it would be hard to go wrong with the front trim returned to factory type colors and stripping the black paint down to the stainless or chrome underneath.

All my parts started coming in. I ordered the CPP 4/6 Drop kit. I have all the front suspension parts to rebuild the worn out steering. I drove the truck up on the trailer to take it to my dads shop to begin the tear down and rebuild. I did notice a large amount of water pouring out of the side of the block in front of the motor mount. Good thing I have an LS to go in!

And just for eye candy, this is the other hot rod I am helping my dad build. So future pics will probably include this car in the background.

Any updated? What size tires are you running with the 4/6 drop?

Sorry guys, I've had a lot going on. Here's a little update on the truck.

I've rebuilt the front end and done the drop spindles and springs. I've pulled the old motor. Next up is the C notch and axle flip in the rear, then I can prep the LS motor to get it ready to go.

Still need to find a hood and probably a driver's door.
