Do you have the vent windows out? I do have some pictures but if can answer any questions or help at all let me know. I have done a few of these and there are a few tricks to help. I can loan you the rivet tool if you like. We would need to work out a security deposit because it cost me a hundred bucks. Let me know if you need help.

I would be interested in lots of pictures and any tips and tricks, too. I've bought the weatherstrip, rivets, and rivet tool (not as fancy as yours, mine is just a type of punch) from GMCPauls.

Re: Restoring vent window's photos.

You will need the punch to get to some that the rivet tool will not reach. The tool just makes it less work. Pm me and we can exchange phone numbers. We can talk faster than I can type.

I'm getting a deal I can't refuse. I was going to send them out. I got hooked up with a vintage window guy, and he's charging me $260 to install ALL the windows, including new rubber for the vent windows. Wasn't looking for anyone to install the roll-ups or vent windows, but...........Okay.

The bottom pivot rod on my passenger side is broken. Can I repair/replace it or do I need a whole new window frame?

Re: Restoring vent window's photos.

You will probably need a new vent window. Tinted or clear glass?

I've used the typical pop rivet tool in the past with an extention but I wonder if a brake rivet tool like this would work - USA made and less expensive https://www.aircraftsupply.com/ra825.html

The sticker in the glove box says tinted glass.

Something must be wrong here; a tool designed and manufactured in the USA for use on aircraft is less expensive than one that isn't?? I'm shocked...honestly. Is that price missing a 1 or a 2 in front of it??

Nice find...I bet it would work too!
