Passenger rear cab hit hard, patch panel?
 

This 66 c10 has been smashed in on the passenger rear cab area mainly around the striker plate area. The door is very hard to close/open because the cab area is in by a half inch or so.....and that's after the last guy tried to hammer and pull it out.
I found all this after taking it to the sandblaster.

Is there an available full rear corner patch panel or would I need a donor truck for the part?

If you know or have a porta-power jack the inner striker could be jacked out. No doubt it needs a cab corner, so with the old one removed it would make the push easier, or you can use a come-a-long and pull it out. I would rather repair the OEM one as replace it. Just the ideas of a old bodyman. I am sure others will disagree.

I don't have a close up picture but it's pretty bad. It's been drilled and they tried to beat it out before. When that didn't work they just filled it up with bondo.
I knew there were issues when I bought it but sandblasting will let you see ALL the problems, lol

I bet you could find a parts cab or...a donor cab to use instead.

I know this guy has a lot of parts, might have a cab. I am close so could look at whatever you might need.

Yes you will need to find a donor cab for that entire cab corner. What's all over the cab and frame? Is that the results of having them sandblasted?

I would recommend what others here have recommended.
If you have room for a donor cab, you might find more on it that can be used or someone else might need. That's what happened with me when I bought a donor cab. I cut the whole roof off and saved it. Saved a section of the dash, and a couple other patch pieces I sold to members here. Back then my forum subscription allowed me to post in the classifieds section of the forum.
So, if you have the space and time, a donor cab would be the way to go.
Or, you might find a local cab at a wrecking yard that might sell you just that section off a junk cab. I did that several years ago on my 66. Beavercreek Auto Wrecking had an old beat up cab that they let me cut a patch section out of.

Ultimately, you were asking if that piece is available to purchase new, but I don't think it is, and would probably be pretty expensive.

In fact, new it would most likely be two pieces.
The inside latch section and the outside panel section.

Nice find. However, I think the 60, and 61 are a little different at the door latch section.

That jamb is for a '64-'66. The '60-'63's are different. The most noticeable is the 'wedge' below the latch area.

Its a mess... The sandblaster sprayed a metal prep all over it to keep it from rusting.
And I have no idea how I will ever get the sand out of this thing.

Find an old mattress and get some help to keep rolling it on different sides. Shop vac the hell out of it as you keep turning. You can also use a spray nozzle and air compressor.

Haven't rolled it around but I've spent probably 3 hours with a vacuum and a rubber mallet tapping on it as I go.

Compressed air is the best to try and get the remaining sand out. You will likely be finding sand for some time, but it is a fair price to pay for having all the rust removed as well as any filler so that you can see exactly what you have to work with. Once you get an engine in it and running, the vibration will shake some more sand out of it.

You might want to find out exactly what metal prep the sandblaster used. Reason being, you will want to check and see if it is compatible with the primer you plan to spray over it. Some primers will lift even if silica sand was used. The best thing to do after steel has been sand blasted is to simply epoxy prime it ASAP.
