A couple of you guys know that I was doing the deal helping me find the correct vin and information, so I thought I would start a possible build blog on it I'm just going to play with it for now I appreciate everyone that helped me, I'm used to the 69 to 72 even though I had a 66 in high school but it wasn't a K series anyway don't make fun of it when I stated that I needed to try to find the right vin I said it was rough and it is rough, the bed is so hammered I'm going to try to find a donor garbage trailer or something as I hate to tear apart another truck if I found one can anybody tell me if that's the original tappet cover I have found I'm watching Wheel to the other three thank you for helping me on that please give comments but be gentle

Re: New project 66 k20
That looks like a really great truck. Keep the pictures coming.

Re: New project 66 k20
First off Good looking project! I would say that bed is probably salvageable if you can find a junk yard bed with damage in different areas to cut patch panels from. On the cab I know I have also seen longer cab corners available but not sure if they went up that high to cover that dent.
All in all it looks to be pretty complete truck to start with, many trucks here on east coast are rusted away much worse than that. |

Re: New project 66 k20
That 6 cyl valve cover is off a 250 mericruiser marine engine I believe. Man I'd drive it the way it is. Sharp looking truck.

Re: New project 66 k20
i've been looking forward to this, saw the teaser pics in another post. very cool truck, congrats! Thanks for sharing - love that bumper!!

Re: New project 66 k20
I would not change anything of the look of the truck only mechanical things that make it more reliable, love the look.

Re: New project 66 k20
Never seen a valve cover like that on any chevy I6 I've seen.
I really like the truck man!:chevy: |

Love the truck. What size tires are on it? Can you take pictures of suspension give specs on ride height? Not to far from you and brother is in Orem. Interested in wheels if you decide to get rid of them. Found 3, 17 inch splits at a junkyard a few weeks ago should have got them, like the looks of them.

A trained eye observes original 17" 3 piece wheels on the L F, L R, R F and spare. R R ?

Front Chevy aluminium and rears Chevy steel with chrome layer.using adapter nuts. I had all matching until I ruined them doing burn outs. Truck has a 1970 472 cad engine

looks like a original and a solid start ....

Re: New project 66 k20
Nice truck, not seeing a problem with any of it. Looks really solid. Even the heater hose on the passenger floor to keep the ladies feet warm... good idea.😉

Re: New project 66 k20
Any plans for it yet?

I did get a matching 4th shielded valve stem or three-piece wheel from Member Bimus, that was very helpful I also found a oil bath air cleaner for it and I've just been kind of cleaning a few things up I'm thinking I'm going to have to pull the front hubs and do the brake shoes |
