K5 missing tailgate Jackscrew...should I be able to push window down?

Recently purchased a ‘86 K5, knowing it needed work on the rear window. PO claimed it needed a new motor, but I found it was functional off the dash switch. The Jackscrew is missing, Jackscrew end of cable is broken, and the window is stuck in the up position, about 1/2” from full up.

The rear seat doesn’t seem to want to unlatch to fold down, and I’m not flexible enough these days to squeeze between the seat and tail gate to fix this, lol. Should I be able to manually push the window down like this? I tried, and got it down about 1/2”, but was afraid of breaking the window. Just trying to get the tail gate open to get a better look at all the parts that will need to be replaced so I can do it on one order.

If you can't get to the tailgate cover then your only other option is to remove the top.
