64-66 help

yesterday i ended up with a 64-66 swb fleetside truck, it's in pieces and the owner can't find the papers (it was a lein sale truck). it appears the only sheetmetal that is useable is the cab, inner fenders and rad support, everything else looks like scrap. it has a locked up V8, 3 speed trans and someone cleaned and painted the frame. thats about all i know at this point. i have dealt with 67-72 trucks for many years and know the different years by just looking at them but all i can tell about this thing is it's a 64-66. is there a way to tell exactly what year it is without a title? i know you 60-66 guru's will think i'm a dumba$$ (you're probably right too:lol:) but i don't know how to tell which year it is. if i can figure out what it is, i'll post some stuff in the "for sale" section.

Are there Chevy C10 emblems on the dog house? They were different every year.

Re: 64-66 help

emblems were on the fenders but missing now--if the fenders are correct for the truck.
the VIN is 4C144 H 109035 so since it's not a 61 and the other numbers are all 4s, i assume it's a 64. thanks for your help.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe/full.aspx?Page=9 According to LMC's chart, it is a 64

Interesting.. my VIN is pretty much the same, and also produced at plant 'H', on the LMC chart there's no H, but on the next page under GMC VIN's there H=Oakland. Can I assume my Chevy is from there too? And why would't it be listed on the first place? Maybe a limited production series?

Jerry-
If you decide to part it out, you'll do OK on it. I might be interested in some parts as well. Is it a 6-lug or an 8-lug truck? I'm looking for some particular pieces for my '64, and maybe your truck has them.

Plus, what we consider as scrap on the West Coast could be quite valuable to some of our East Coast brothers.

I have heard that the 64's with 'H' were actually made in Fremont even though the charts say it was Oakland. Mine is an 'H' also.
