Positraction decal location for a K5

Purportedly low mile 72 CST - is this the factory install location for a posi decal? Was thinking these were inside the console like a pickup but maybe not. Anyone able to support or refute this location as correct?

Isn’t that where the jack instructions go?

Yes - it looks as if the jack instruction decal is there as well, just above. Here's an example of the jack decal alone.

I purchased my 72 from the original owner 37 years ago and the only positrac ID is on the SPID.

Pretty sure my buddy had a Blazer about 20 years ago that had the posi sticker there. It makes sense if you think about it, its a caution sticker for jacking up the truck and is usually right by the jacking instructions. The posi sticker in my truck is right below the jacking instructions too.

Is the jack decal still in place?

Agree, makes sense. Looks ugly so wouldn't be surprised if many owners removed these. It would be great to see more examples. I favor this to be correct but there could be plant specific variations.

Excuse my ignorance but are these pictures saying a decal was on the rear left side wheel tub slope ? I can't make out any decal in these picture. Only reason for asking is for interest sake Thanks

Yes. Post #1,3,4 show decals affixed to the LH wheel tub (1 and 3 are the same image and show a jack decal plus a positraction decal). Post #5 shows what looks like residual adhesive from both jack and posi decals but isn't conclusive IMO.

Here is a more detailed photo of the jack decal in correct location ( same decal as post #4 above) but this decal is not the focus of this thread.

Update: Low mile, clean 72 Blazer now on ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevro...4AAOSwrLVc7AZC) purportedly with 76k original miles and Flint built shows a posi decal on the RH wheel well. Survivor? Has a repaint. Outer rocker pop rivets?

Any place that sells the decals? I have a repro one but its much smaller.

Mine is a repro but I can’t recall where I picked it up. You are right though, some repro decals are smaller. I have a small repro on the shelf here. If you find a place that sells the larger size please post back. I’ll do the same.

Here’s an example found on a 72 SS that looks to be the same on ParB’s Jimmy and differs from that I used. Thanks Brad for the photo.
