Heater question concerning coils in vent

Just purchased the American wire kit and in the process of redoing all of my wiring. I followed the wiring to the heater box and it was connected to a coil that is snapped into the back of the metal vent coming from engine bay. Is that more of a heater coil that gets hot when turned on? How do you check it to make sure it works or just better off getting new? Where can I buy this at? Looked at LMC but I didn't see it but I might of missed it also

It sounds like you are talking about the heater resistor. My older LMC catalog has it on p166. It allows the fan blower to operate on the medium speeds. There is a different one for trucks with A/C. No need to replace it unless it is burned out or broken. Check if your blower works on medium.

Thanks, I ended up just buying a new one for $10 along with all the other stuff you always seem to need
