Followed me home
Between my daughter wanting to learn to drive stick and getting tired of hauling gas cans and everything else in my car since tearing the 71 C10 apart I decided to pick this 65 C20 292 4spd up. I learned to drive in a 63 292 4spd so fun memories. It's original paint with usual rust for the NW. Only plans for now is update to dual master cylinder, fix seat and keep road worthy until the 71 is back on the street. Though I may cave in as the rusted out fenders are really bugging me.

Nice looking truck. One of my favorite original colors for these trucks. Joseph

Re: Followed me home
Thanks for all the nice comments!
The body is much rougher than the pictures portray but at least with original paint there is no hidden damage. I'm usually a SWB guy but I must admit the 60-66's pull off the battered long bed work truck look best. http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...psknsxeyfr.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...psfrmxikkk.jpg |

Congratulations on your find. Its a beautiful truck and looks almost identical to my 66 custom camper. |
Re: Followed me home
Wanted more of an old time look so I found some Dodge steel wheels and Chevy caps on Craigslist. A little white paint on the wheels and paint remover on the caps.

That looks really nice!

Re: Followed me home
One of the things that drew me to this truck was it's great aged look but the new style license plate was killing the barn find look of the front.
http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1ulongat.jpg So I threw the current plate on the dash and bolted on an old Washington plate. If I were to run no plate there is a nice newish spot of paint where the plate has been all these years. Will look into finding a pair of vintage plates to have assigned to the truck. Hoping it doesn't cause a big issue with law enforcement for now . http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3mttsgwl.jpg |

Been useful
http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...pstzcnlmjb.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...psnm2ror9r.jpg But not lately, I don't drive it when there is de-icer on the roads http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...psscdaxp4m.jpg http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...psa0owlnjb.jpg |
Re: Followed me home
Replaced the $19.99 radio from the 80's it had with one from Custom Autosound and some new speakers.
It's more bling looking than I would like for this truck but still way better http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...psjyodzkje.jpg Took some speaker enclosers that came out of the back window of another car, painted, put new speakers in and mounted closer to my ear than the kick panel pods that it had before as they got pretty drown out by the trans and road noise http://i1245.photobucket.com/albums/...pshhget759.jpg |
Re: Followed me home
Are those horns hanging down below the engine? (The pic showing the vintage plate)

Re: Followed me home
Nice truck and the horns are pretty cool too. I'm a long bed fan myself, can't stand to see one cut up.
