hunting a mirror help
I'm having trouble finding a mirror to fit my truck. I probably should have done this research before I painted the truck but I'm wanting some that use these holes or I can drill new holes as long as the new base will cover these . I would like a round mirror preferably black or paintable. This is the best picture I have of the holes

Re: hunting a mirror help
if you see mirrors among cars, and you like it check the dealers or if its too pricey check availability through rockauto. I went to Toyota to buy '90 Camrry power rear view door mirrors and they wanted almost 400 each. Rock auto...70 dollars each

Re: hunting a mirror help
wouldnty those be the 72 sport mirrors?
|
Re: hunting a mirror help
I belive you're right on the 72 sport mirrors, but there a square mirror and my truck is going to have a 70 grill . The doors might me 72 .

Re: hunting a mirror help
The 2 holes in your door are not from stock 67-69 Chevy or GMC truck mirrors, nor are they for stock 70-72 deluxe truck mirrors. So if you plan on using or covering those holes you'll need to get a different mirror than stock.

Re: hunting a mirror help
The 72 sport mirrors have 3 mounting holes and are mounted forward of your holes and down an inch or more on the 2" flat strip.

Re: hunting a mirror help
So most likely someone drilled those holes in my doors ?

Quote:
The stock single arm 67-69 mirrors also use 3 holes on the flat area below and slightly forward of where those are located. To my knowledge those holes do not match the location for the stock Jr West Coast or west Coast mirrors, not the other optional mirror package available in 67-72. Paul Jr. @ GMCPauls |
Re: hunting a mirror help
is there a threaded plate mounted to the backside of the door skin where the holes are?
|
Re: hunting a mirror help
No threaded plate. Think I'm gonna try and find a comaro or chevelle mirror that will atlest cover my holes if I have to make new ones.

Re: hunting a mirror help
These are what I have on my truck. They will fit your existing holes.
