Thanks Jim will do!

99 thanks and that is a great idea. Nicely beaded panels would look good.

Newfisher thank you and you are too kind. I have a long way to go with skills. Interesting idea you have and I haven't driven a pre-AD truck / burb. Love your 46 (looking forward to the updates you have planned) and will have to drive one to see. Folks way back did well with ventilation with what they had. Hopefully when you do the conversion you will do a build thread on it.

Plan to plod through finishing the right side patches next week end and maybe make the left side look a little better.

Thank you 48 ChevBagged...means a lot to me. Coaltrina came out awesome! Loved the video.

Trying my best on the patch panels and falling a bit short of my looks / quality goal even though they will be covered by the rear fender. Comparing this to the patches on my 35 Chevy fender (inner and outer shown below) shows I am a bit short. To be fair, the work on the 35 was done by a very talented craftsman. Front outside quarter of the fender was made and replaced.

Will be little progress this week end as current plans are to focus on friends '52 Buick front suspension upgrade.

Thanks Jim. Randy at Ferguson Coachbuilding did most of the metal work on the 35. One of these days we will finish that one up.

No Burb work happened over the week end....helping a friend with his '52 Buick suspension change. Pulling out the 74 Camaro front to install a newer suspension.

Well the subframe change on the Buick will be going a different route. What looked good on paper is too wide in real life. Went to school on that one.

So was able to get back on the Burb this week end. The end of the rust repair is in sight....right side almost done except for the front lower fender mounting area. Hope to replace that next week end, mount fenders for marking where the nuts should go, weld in the flanged nuts (thanks again Jim!) then call this part good enough.

Butt welded new metal in on about 40 inches of rusted areas on the right side.....lotta tacking and grinding. Feels like the movie Ground Hog Day. Just keep repeating the same. Looking forward to the next steps....

looking good, hate to see you take time off this to be honest. I feel you on the rust repair, but its really a wonder these have lasted so long this far. esp on the east coast boy oh boy to we have some rot. the pics you show look exceptional to the stuff I see. In the end its worth it. It is nice to hop back on to something else though.

Jim - Yes, that was the Crown Vic front. Really enjoyed the break working with the Buick.

99 - thanks, I looked at a number of Burbs before I settled on this one....they were pretty rusty.

Thanks Marc, have you had any time on yours? Looking forward to your, Iceburgh's and Pokerpossum's updates. Been pretty quiet in AD Burb building activity lately.

Back on the 52 Buick Saturday. Buddy reinstalled original front clip so we could set ride height and rake for a bunch of measurements for the Progressive Automotive or Fatman clip. Maybe a little low here. Spent a lot of time standing around staring thoughtfully at it and watching the Velocity channel.

Sunday afternoon was awesome shop time. Cooled off here enough we didn't open the shop doors. Fixed the last rusted area in the fender mounting area. Cut out the bad, installed a wider piece of 19 gauge behind held in initially with self tapping screws, plug welded it then installed the replacement piece for butt welding. Ground welds and sanded smooth.

AD-

I've made a little progress nothing as notable as yours. I will get some pics of it soon. The football team that I coach has a few more weeks before the season wraps up. Then I will have time to get back on it.

Your prrogress is looking good.

Not much to report on mine. Rear doors and fenders are in final primer.
Working on the front doors now then the patch panels on each side are roughed in but need finished plastic and sanded.
Hope to be ready to paint by Thanksgiving

Marc saw your truck on Speedway website a few days ago

Thanks guys, I appreciate the encouragement.

Hey Marc...very cool you are a coach. I appreciate all the folks that make my Grandsons flag football possible. It is a good experience for the little guys. Look forward to your pic's!

99.. I drool over the Buick too. It is a friends first old car hot rod. Should be really cool when back on the road.

Jim..We went up and down with the ride height and pretty much settled there.

Iceburgh..That looks awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Hydrojunkie..Hmm...not sidetracked...we've been planning to hit it on the Buick for a long time. Buddy wrapped up a bunch of customer work so now was a good time. He has helped me a bunch on my projects too.

Tonight we test fit the right rear fender, marked where the new flanged nuts needed to be, drilled then welded them in. Fender even fits. Thanks again Jim!

That's interesting. I didn't know it was on their site. I'm sure my royalty check should show up any day now...JK I will look around on there and see if I can find it.

AD-

I started as a flag coach for a few years and as my boys got older I moved up to 7-8 yr old tackle. I stayed back to coach my 7yr old so that he can have a positive first year of tackle. It can be tough on those kids both mentally and phyisically. We have a decent little team. If we win Sat we get to play in the Championship game on 10/18.

Marc - Hopefully you guys won and are going to the championship. Here, 7 to 9 year olds play flag football. Saw some really great effort and plays last Saturday and they are done for season.

Little 'Burb building time lately as we've been setting up and participating in our MetalMeet event. Brought the burb in hoping to get a little done on it.

Interesting juxtaposition parked next to a Ferarri style body buck. Here is one of the two building the folks are working in, early in morning before many were up and around. They tend to work pretty late.
