New 72 Jimmy Owner
5 Attachment(s)
Finally found one close to home... it starts, runs and drives but needs a few things before it can pass inspection. Has the usual rust but in decent shape I think. I am attaching a few pics for you guys to check out. It has a later model 350 that was once fuel injected but is back to being carbureted. Has a new fuel tank with an electric fuel pump. Wiring is everywhere, stuff cut, unhooked, not working but none the less it's something I have wanted for a while. It appears to have been "restored" at one time or another.
A few questions.. does the fuel tank look like a Blazer/Jimmy fuel tank? What is the plug sticking out of the back? It does appear it has a lift but no blocks, best way to get it back to stock height? |

Re: New 72 Jimmy Owner
It looks pretty good!
From what I can the springs don't look like the original ones. Mine are rounded at the end of each leaf instead of square like yours. Best way would be to buy new springs or at least used from a salvage yard or local member to you. The fuel tank looks like a aftermarket blazer tank. I have the same one. I can't be sure of the the plug is for, but it looks like the high amperage connectors used for electric forklifts. Probably something someone put in for trailering, or powering a winch etc... It also looks like the side vent hose on the tank is blocked off. |
Re: New 72 Jimmy Owner
87Skier, do you see where the body mount is not all the way flush? I think the reason they have it like that is because of the plug out of the back is between the body and the fuel tank. Once I remove the plug should i tigthen that down? Thanks for the reply.

Re: New 72 Jimmy Owner
I would remove the wire and tighten it down.
