1965 gmc 1000 Stromberg WW on a 305e rebuild question
So i got the truck a few months ago. I have cleaned, lined and sealed fuel tank, new sending unit and fuel pump and rebuilt the Stromberg ww. It runs good from idle to hard acceleration but i can not get it to idle right while in drive. It drops 300 rpms when in drive and dies. Also i have to keep my foot on the gas just a smidge while at a stop to keep it running. Would this be a linkage or power valve or vacuum. It does seem to be running rich. I have done some research on Stromberg carbs and those would be my best guess but i am hoping someone could help me out with their knowledge.
Also what plugs should i run in it? I cant get the ac c44ns i have seen recommended. Posted via Mobile Device |

I would probably look to an air bleed adjustment issue before making any changes that cost money or parts replacements. Obviously diagnosing issues like this over the internet is just a guess, but, from your description, It sounds like the carburetor is not getting enough air at idle, especially if the engine is running rich.

It took a little tunning and the vacuum line at the tranny was not connected.
Any suggestions on plugs? Posted via Mobile Device |

Looks like NGK 6211, 6511, 7327 are possible on the cross reference chart. Might want to double check though.
