roof racks

Some of those roof racks are BIG. I wanted to purchase one for my sub and they want a arm and leg. Then it is a whole different ball game on the roof racks. I didn't know there were so many different types, shapes, colors and styles.

DINS 1 09-15-2003 10:28 PM

98l150 did you haul your burb south on I-35 in Iowa if so i followed you out of the rest area north of Ames,IA. and passed you to take a look at the burb.

oldiron, I love that 'burb! It makes me want to paint mine green every time I see it!

Who makes those rims? That's the style I want to put on my '69.

bigger=better 09-16-2003 08:17 PM

Hey ckhd where'd you get that roof rack? I like that.
Joker, you want mine? pretty sure it's coming off. I have two of them pretty sure they are homemade jobs, not aftermarket.

98L150 09-16-2003 11:38 PM

Shipping Cost

DINS 1,

I had Gatot Transportation ship my truck from St Paul, MN to Houston Texas for $785. It took about 2-1/2 days on a direct truck.

It was on the 'burb when I bought it. I think it has the comany name on it somewhere. If you really want to know, I'll go see if I can find it. I think it was a company in CA.

BLAZERMAN 09-17-2003 05:17 PM

The roof rack on ckhds truck is made by Con-Ferr, they make the best racks you can buy. I've seen them on Jeeps and Land Cruisers but thats the first one on a burb, that would be real nice on a trip or just going to the swapmeets.

ckhd 09-17-2003 05:58 PM

Yeah, that sounds like the right company. It's a really nice rack. Well built and strong. I think it would bend my drip-rail long before the rack would give any.

I found Con-Ferr's website. I couldn't get a lot of it to work. Not sure if it's a server problem or my problem.

Anyway, here it is:

http://www.con-ferr.com

And I totally agree that they make the best racks. After seeing/having this rack, I'll never even consider something like a Yakima.
