Spongy Brakes 95 1500
I just picked up a 95 1/2 Ton Silverado. ABS light is on, and the brakes are spongy. It stops fine, and on the drive home when I stabbed them, the rears momentary locked up, I let off the pedal and the brakes released. The BRAKE light come on once in awhile but only for about 45 seconds or so. Full of fluid. Where should I start looking? Thanks

if your new to these kinda trucks the brakes were always kinda spongy on them. my 1990 had everything replaced a few years back and you still dont ever get a perfect brake pedal, same with all the ones i ever worked on.
but hard to tell if you have other issues, poorly adjusted rear drums, bad master, air in system etc |

Wheel is wet of the brake drum is wet? If the drum is wet, you probably have a leaking wheel cylinder and need to replace it ASAP.

Both. Yeah, I know it needs serious attention. I'm not driving it anymore. Just didn't have time today. Hopefully that is the only issue that is causing the spongy brakes. |
