think i like skyjacker soft ride. 2.5 maybe. with either 31x10.5 75r or 32 11.5 75r ?

Re: pics of 2 or 2 1/2 inch lifts and give tire size

I run the Skyjacker 2.5 springs frt and back on my '69 GMC 1500. Overall I am satisfied with their performance. I live on a small farm and use it for farm activities, some off-road stuff like going through cornfields rounding up cattle. I would like to post some pictures but don't have any right now. I run a stock 16 inch steelie. Hercules Traildiggers I think they are 31".

Re: pics of 2 or 2 1/2 inch lifts and give tire size

If ur running a lift then you don’t want to run 31s, they came stock with them and would look goofy with any lift n small tire. 32 lil better but still small for lift.

thx for the reply b454rat. I found out these came with 235x75xr15 and I did a comparison between the factory tire and 31x10.5xr15, looks to be a bit different. chart below... thx for your reply, dave

Re: pics of 2 or 2 1/2 inch lifts and give tire size

On my 81 the best thing I did for the ride was put a adjustable shock on and dumped the quad shock setup. I installed procomp mx6 shocks and it was night and day difference, my truck also has the 4" Rancho lift. However, if you really want to drop to a 2.5" lift I would get the tuff country EZ ride springs.

Re: pics of 2 or 2 1/2 inch lifts and give tire size

If you want to go with a mild lift, you could run stock springs with a long add a leave, a zero rate and longer shackles. With the add a leave, it will be slightly stiffer, but better than the springs currently have. Or could do 52s, but that might be more lift than what you want/need.

Re: pics of 2 or 2 1/2 inch lifts and give tire size

I thank you both for the advice. its very helpful. now on the 52" spring? not sure what that is all about? my rear factory springs are 52" eye to eye. dave

Re: pics of 2 or 2 1/2 inch lifts and give tire size

offroad flex and cheep 4" lift in the front is to use 52" rear springs with a set of hangers on the front .

your use of the truck dosn't require this mod .

i fell into the same situation a few years back, they pretty much shut down all the local off road places and needed new tires soon. so figured whats the point of buying new 38s that are never going to see snow.

i basically just put the stock suspension and and put on a 2 inch body lift

apparently i should have bought a better camera back then. for some reason thats the only two pictures i have after lowering it

FWIW- Have you considered a six lug 16 steelie widened to 8 inches. I think these rims make a 1/2 look like a boss, but as you probably know these rims are not just hanging around. Bruce

I think 31's would look too small with 2.5".

My Blazer is 2.5" Tuff Country front leafs and a 3" block in the back with 33x12.50x15.

Here is my 69 with a 2” lift. I have 33x11.50r15 on it right now. I do get a slight amount of rub if I’m on the stops and hit some bumps.

Still a few weeks away from completion of build. Truck has a 2" Tuff Country spring lift, that seems more like a 4" lift. It turned out higher than I wanted. The tires in the picture are 33x12.50's that only measure 31.2 inches with weight of truck on them.

Really like the colors of your truck. And you are right, that does look like a four inch lift from the pictures.
