won't go into 4 high
 

so just got the 72 blazer home; interesting ride from des moines.
the transfer case shifts between 2, neutral and 4 low but won't go all the way back into 4 high. with car stopped or rolling slow. haven't beaten on it, haven't investigated further.

anybody know if this is a common thing with an easy fix?

Often it's just a matter of cleaning and lubricating the shift lever.

Make sure it isn't hitting the floor.

thanks fellas. i followed your suggestions, still won't budge. doesn't appear to be hitting the floor edge, theres room for the lever to slide.

don't want to force it.
