2006-2014 silverado/Sierra seat swap into 69 c10
I have scoured the threads and found a lot of awesome pictures of seat swaps out to bucket seats or 40-20-40 bench seats. I've only been able to find one from the newer generation of Silverados 2008 to 2014. I would love to know if anybody else out there has done this and if they have pictures to show it or tips to suggest.
Thanks! |

They go right in, drill new holes and use super thick and wide washers so the seat stays in the cab if you crash. Only problem will be if your over 5-8", you gonna be cramped. Fortunately I'm short and don't have that issue.

Looks good. Do you have your factory fuel tank? And do you think you can modify the seat to allow more leg room? It’s for my sons truck and he is 6-2.

No tank behind the seat. I wouldn't recommend it if he's 6-2, it'd be like driving a go cart, think knees in chest lol

Was looking at this myself and wondered if leg room was affected. I guess that plans out for now.

Thanks for the info.
Do you think you could modify the seat frame to allow more room or is the just that big? |

Post #189. 99 Chevy Silverado power bucket seats with center console in my 68. I'm 6'5" and it's a little tight getting in and out. In all honesty, these truck cabs are too small for us taller people. I'd prefer to have a blazer so i could recline without hitting the back of the cab, but what we want and what we haven't don't always match up. -Josh |

Hey josh.
I see you changed your steering column. Is it closer to the dash than a stock column? I built a van tilt and shorten the column by 2 inched. Yours looks closer. Also I am going to check out your build thread from start to finish Thank for the pictures. Quote:

I am installing 2012 seats in my 67. I had to move the gas tank for clearance. I used 1/2" spacers in the back. Aftermarket 3pt seatbelts using the seat mounts.

I just fabbed up some '09 seats and a '02 center seat on my '67. I'm just under 6' and with the factory seat brackets my head was like an inch from the roof and I was looking through the top of the windshield. I cut 3 1/2" out of the factory brackets (see build thread for details). It gained me the head room, but I still have an issue with leg room. I really don't think old trucks were built for people over 5'4".

Haha, ya I'm 5-6 and am a little cramped with the '08 seats.
