Re: cutting weight
what have you done so far?

Re: cutting weight
3200 lbs sounds pretty good to me!
My race car is 3750 with me in it. I'll follow along and see if I can offer anything (or steal any ideas) after you tell us what you've done so far. K |
Re: cutting weight
I'm always up for weight reduction, as long as it doesn't involve ME...or taking out my stereo.

You are close to where I was before I did the mustang 2 spindle on stock control arms with wilwood brakes. Last time out mine was 3120 with a full.14ga cell and full.15lb N20 bottle and my fat a$$

anyone ever fill tail gate with cement? wanna add 100 or so to rear.
|
Re: cutting weight
^ sounds a little impractical and too permanent to me.. also difficult to handle or remove..
mounting small cargo area for sand bags or mounts for tractor weights or exercise weights would be much easier and adjustable or completely removable.. good luck! |
Re: cutting weight
Exercise weights bolted in with a hand style nut that can be removed without tools and possible a safety tractor pin .

Re: cutting weight
Lets just say that plumbing lead flows into lots of places if you can keep it warm.
|
Re: cutting weight
where is the battery. if not already there mou t it as far back to tailgate as you can. take weight off the nose or move back.
|
Re: cutting weight
battery is in front of passenger rear tire. didnt have alot of room behind tires but that is a option. wonder how much it would help moving from in front to behind tire
|
Re: cutting weight
What size is that rear tire and which tire is it ?

I have 2 gates, one that is stock weight and one that I cut the top open and added about 100lbs of scrap plate steel I had laying around. The heavy gate on and down changes the weight bias quite. 125% of the gates weight is seen on the rear tires while 25% of the gates weight come off the front tires. This is simply due to the weight being well behind the axle centerline, the leverage it has on the chassis. |
