Door check retainer

Hey y'all, my door check retainer is broke. More specifically the part on the cab, so the part on door has nothing to attach to and pin to go in. What's the best fix to this? Is there a way to avoid cutting and welding something in? Thanks.

Here you go people--e-bay search jeep door ck bracket. These are new. If getting yours from a u-pullet place just get the bracket also. Bolt on or weld on.

Nice new parts :)
Still wondering, do those require a self tapping bolt? Or do you have to get into the A-pillar to used a backing bolt?

my 61 probably has a plate thats tack welded and threaded. later non bolt on could use some kind of nut-cert. or weld on.

Hey bbluma, check & see if there are threads in/behind those 2 holes. If so, just get the proper Jeep retainers and bolt right in : get the retainers & do not forget to get the bolts too.
My Jeep retainers did not allow my doors to open quite far enough; so I removed the rubber bumpers to where I could slice off half. I could've cut a bit more, but I just let well enough alone, after checking, at that point.
Good luck with your project(s)!
Sam
