Cigarette Lighter

My cigarette lighter doesn't function. Is there anything else to look for besides if the fuse is bad? Its been something Ive been meaning to get around to fixing. Its not real fun when you cant use it for power accessories like cell phone charger, radar and things like that. I havent look at it yet but isnt there just a live (hot) from the fuse box ran to the cigarette lighter?

correct, just a hot wire that gets power all the time on mine the po cut it off to power the radio might start with making shure a wire is still there also the fuse for the cig lighter on my 83 is also for the cab light, clock, and bed light, not shure what else that fuse runs but its a 30

i dont know about stock cig lighters, but other ones i have bought have a power wire and a ground wire...the stock ones could ground on the whole flip out assembly, but not sure about that...

ha, mine works like new. didn't work for a while, then my dad got a new job and a cell phone, so he fixed it to charge his cell phone. now my stereo is tapped into it. don't remember if my fog lights are tapped into it also.
