Vehicle speed sensor

I'm in need of a transmission vehicle speed sensor for a 1990 C-1500 with a three speed transmission , anyone have a good lead?

Re: Vehicle speed sensor

Are you sure its 3 speed?

Am assuming this is the V6 engine?

Most if not all were either 4 speed or 5 speed or auto...

Send trans Option from body SPID...

There is a small chance it has a th400. The last year for it was 1990.

Auto or manual?

If auto...where is vacuum modulator ? rear of trans on on the side?

If manual...is it three on tree ?

That makes it a TH-400...

ACDELCO 19313723

Various suppliers list this...try rockauto...

Re: Vehicle speed sensor

The Ac Delco 19313723 sensor is not correct, the correct sensor is GM #8655291, BWD SN7130 ,Echlin VSS730, all of which are obsolete. Getting frustrated.

Re: Vehicle speed sensor

I did a quick search and what popped up for me was 24232618 which might be the part number that superseded that seven digit 8655291 you came up with. It also stated it was a part on a T-400 which is a great HD trans. I have a spare VSS somewhere. I replaced mine in my '89 but it turns out I have gremlins in my gauge cluster circuit board that is a much different problem.
