LS tuning help!
Anyone on the board good with HP tuners that might be willing to help me out with a verylikely simple problem? I switched my MAF sensor and need it rescaled. Ive got HP tuners but am totally new to it and dont want to mess it up!

What ECU are you using. The factory computer does have some learning ability. It is possible some various driving styles will get it working better. HP tuners is a great tool but difficult to learn. Do very small changes and only 1 at a time.

pretty sure your going to need a wideband to tune it.. I came across the same issue when i did the L83 swap in my 87 silverado using the air raid MAF adapter... ran weird, long term fuel trims went way lean or way rich... been a few years. Idled supppppper low, exhaust sounded different. Watched a guy on youtube how to maf tune l83 and poof fixed it. I used a 14point7 wideband sensor adapter + used wideband sensor, calibrated wideband per instructions and runs great.

Yes, Absolutly must have a wide band sensor if you are using HP Tune. AEM is your best solution. The gauge has provision to provide data to the HP Tuner Adaptor. I also find the sensor and gauge very useful in tuning a carborator. Made selecting the correct jet and rod a 15 minute job and I now have excellent A/F ratio.
