'64 C 20 with 17" heavy duty 3 piece rims, not the 15" 3 piece heavy duty rim as seen on the '64 GMC 1500 above. The 15" tire was ok for 1/2 tons, but a serious miscalculation by GM having them available on 3/4 tons up to early '65. The new for '65 16" 2 piece wheel became the wheel of choice for 3/4 tons the next several years till the 16.5" became available.

Re: Pictures of 1960-66 campers please
Wow that Gem Top brings back memories. I was in the back of a long bed Gem Top in the 60's with a family that took care of me and rode from south Tucson to Villa Juarez Mexico with five or six of their kids. Long ride :)
Don't remember the ride back though . . . |

Nice low mileage original for sale in Seattle.
http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/5312364718.html 1963 GMC 1 Ton Flatbed Dually w/ 10' flatbed mounted Camper. I am the third owner. I have owned rig for 40+ years, always garaged. 305 E series V-6, 4 speed Manual Trans with Over/Under drive Transmission, trailer hitch and wiring. Rig is 52 years old, needs minor work. 80K original miles, good condition, new batteries (dual system), runs great. Camper has tons of storage, extra large bunk and head room, sleeps 4 adults comfortably. Gas frig, heater, stove, oven and "Monomatic" toilet. Kitchen sink with 20 gallon water tank. Enjoy "as is" or separate Camper and Truck for an excellent "Classic Flatbed" and "Mother-in-law" or Cabin camper unit |

Here's some from the Alaskan camper archives. Notice how they doctored the last photo to NOT resemble a 60-66 (which it clearly is).
