1969 C-10 Missing the SPID Label
My new Project 1969 C-10 is missing the SPID in the glovebox. On another post it was stated if pictures were posted the gracious members here could probably tell the original Stock options that would have been on the label.
I have numerous pictures in this photo gallery: http://hscfire.com/chevy/pictures/ |

Re: 1969 C-10 Missing the SPID Label
Call 1 800 222 1020 with your VIN number and they will send you all kinds of info about your truck AND it's free. I've read where it's generic info but I'm not sure . Your truck was low option
3 ott no air no power brakes painted bumpers 307 2 barrel ? The good part is you can build it anyway you want and have a new spid made to reflect your build . __________________ |

I’m not sure without the casting number if it’s a 307 or 350?? Don’t know how to tell any other way. Yea I can get one printed with 350/350 an power brakes an disk brakes an the other options I’m gonna install before I’m done. Thanks, Gaines Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: 1969 C-10 Missing the SPID Label
it really does not matter since its not going to be origonal you might as well skipp that . Getting a repro spid plate fudged up would only confuse matters and might seem dishonest.
you could always do one that lists your LS/ tranny combo kindof as a spoof. you could do that to thumb your nose at all of us OCD types who go into apoplectic shock if the gob of grease slung off the u-joint is not factory correct. I saw a 57 pontiac that had a window sticker that listed the 455 ho/ 400 and power disc brakes as "standard". |
Re: 1969 C-10 Missing the SPID Label
I had a company called Vintage Correct make me a replica spid for my 72 that looks exactly like the original... did a great job.

Re: 1969 C-10 Missing the SPID Label
That is nicely done. Looks like the right series of chain printer, though I'm not sure about the blank itself.
We have someone on the forum that does them right, he might have a thought on these one - chipflyer or outintheshop or similar? |
Re: 1969 C-10 Missing the SPID Label
One of the vendors sells new spids though right now I cannot remember who it is. GMC Pauls, Brothers or one of those companies I think.
