L98 TPI Corvette Engine Swap into 1995 SWB

I have a 1987 Corvette complete running and driving donor car.

I am looking to swap the Corvette motor and auto tranny into a 1995 Silverado SWB that has a blown V8 motor.
Any pointers? I have never tackled anything like this especially a TBI to TPI swap.

Things I THINK I know:
  • Upgrade Fuel Pump & possibly install fuel pressure regulator
  • Bypass VATS security system so it will start (Painless has a $70 bypass kit)

Things I Don't know:
  • Do I use the TPI donor wiring harness, repin TBI harness to TPI or is there a TBI to TPI adapter kit?
  • Everything damn thing else related to the swap

ANY input would be greatly appreciated! :metal:

I haven't heard of anyone swapping a TPI into anything in the last 2 decades or so, I'm betting you'll have a hard time finding the info without searching high and low on the net.

Assuming that you already have an auto trans in your 1995, you have a 16197427 or 16156930 PCM for that engine/trans combo. Those are a lot more advanced than the 1227165 ECM that runs your 87 Corvette. If your 4L60E is in good shape, you'll want to retain that and the PCM in the truck instead of going backward with the 700R4/ECM from the vette. Either way, you have a lot of wiring and PROM burning in your future. I suggest doing some reading over at thirdgen.org and gearhead-efi.com to get headed in the right direction.

Thanks guys! Good point on the transmission too. I'll do some more search on the thirdgen.com and geared-efi.com. I appreciate all the help.
