Seems like I have more room between the bellhousing and firewall from the same angle. Maybe that truck I got the linkages from is farther back. Trying to figure it out with the other truck over an hour away.

This 2/3 linkage that was in the pile of stuff when I got the truck fits and moves perfect.

The other linkages I have for 1/R hit the clutch rod and the other rod when trying move into the gears.

I feel like i need this 1/R linkage I found a pic of on the site. It looks like it comes over to clear the clutch rod then more straight up to the column ear.

The linkage rods I have are loose, not in a truck. I have an assortment. Just let me know if a picture of them all together will help. i should just get a picture anyway and post it. If I have every variation it may help clarify

Pics may help. For me It’s hard to tell what’ll work without trying it on the truck. They guy that has the truck I got the ones off of had about a dozen loose ones. Just didn’t know what I was looking for. I bought one set off eBay for our trucks of unknown origin. They don’t seem to be 6 cyl ones because they aren’t long compared to others, but neither rod fits either location on my truck. Are the small ears the rods go to at the trans all the same? One short one for 2/3 and a longer one for 1/R indexed differently? I’ll attach a picture of the ebay ones I bought. Anybody have an idea what they fit?

I'm in the same boat with my collection. I figure if and when I need them I can try till something works. Still, maybe I have some that are different from what you've had and just seeing them might tell a story. I'll get them out before I head out this morning.

Here is what I have and I have no idea what is what. If anyone recognizes any, please identify so we can reference against those. The first and second picture shows all and it looks like only two identical pairs at the bottom. The very lowest one is slightly different from the pair it is under, only at the lower end bend. You can tell better on the second picture. The third picture has only the ones that are different... it's minus the two that matched another. They are all lined up at the lower ends to give an idea of length differences

Re: 3 spd shift linkages??

I definitely have a pair off the truck from an original 67 327 three speed. I'll be reusing mine but maybe my example can help ID the correct one from special K. I won't be able to take some pics until hopefully this weekend.

Wow surely someone on here knows which ones are which from those pics. I’ll lay mine out when I get home and see which ones of those I have.

Re: 3 spd shift linkages??

I edited my post and the quote, lower end is slightly different on the left end and lower ends are lined up. To be clear. The first and second picture are the same except I moved 1/4 turn. See what a difference that made with the first two at the top in the first and on the right in the second? I'll leave these as they lay for easier reference until things get sorted out

I’ve stared at special-k’s linkages too much.lol. I think the obvious is the left side/lower ones with the hook on the trans side are 2/3 linkages to clear the clutch fork. The 2/3 linkage I have that works is the second in line in the pic where they are lined up at the bottom. Also, the 1/R linkage I pulled off that tuck last weeked is the longer top/right rod that has the small linkage attached. I have the other rod that has the small linkage attached too, it’s a little longer and has that extra bend compared to the 2/3 one I have that works for me(that extra bend makes it hit my clutch rod). I believe right now the two with attached links are a set (6cyl). The pics I’ve seen of a 7 bolt trans, the 1/R rod at the trans is somewhat straight. As of now I’m really thinking the middle rod(in the pic of 9 lined up on the bottom) is looking like a winner. Seems similarly shaped to the longer one with the link attached, but shorter. I’d like someone that had one that works to compare to that one.

Attached one with the extra bend, one like the long one with the link, and the one in the middle of my pic, I don’t even see in yours?

Would pics of a 1970 250/3 spd column Saginaw setup help for pics?
If so I can try to climb under mine tonight if the snow is melted enough.... my truck is unmolested to my knowledge so should be setup as from factory.

OK, so I took mine out for pictures. I have a 72 292 with the 7 bolt side cover. Attachment 1885608

I've got more pictures but the program won't let me upload them. I'll get them up as soon as I figure it out.

Well... I went back to the donor truck today. The motor/trans is in the rear location. Explains the rods too long. I got another rod from him. Got home and it hits the clutch rod. Now I know what I need who’s got one??

Finally got them to upload. I had to resize them.
What I'm looking for is one that is around 1" longer on the 2/3 arm (bottom-shorter 24" arm) and one that is 4" shorter than the top 29"1/R arm.
So in other words I'm looking for a 25" with a hook and a 25" straight piece. These are approximate numbers. Anything close, I would buy.
So, Special K, to bother you again, could you measure what you have? Thanks a ton for doing what you have done already.

Yes, I think it would be helpful with it's application mentioned. Once this issue with this truck is solved this thread could be helpful for all the 3spd linkage questions.

OK, here you go, this is a picture of the first reverse rod off a '67 327 V8 saginaw three speed C 10. It measures exactly 26 3/8". And that measurement is just the rod, none of the attachments.
