47-48 tank with power brakes
 

I recently bought a 47-48 tank (inside the frame rails) for my project, and then when I was out looking at the truck the other night started worrying that it may not fit with the dual-pot master and vacuum booster I previously installed.

Anyone done this install? Will the tank fit behind the brake unit? And are there bolt holes in the frame (50)?

Most importantly, pictures would be awesome! Trying to figure out where it all goes (cab and bed still out at body shop).

I am confused, that gas tank mounts all the way back on the frame under the right side of the frame right in front of the axle. What does that have to do with where a vacuum booster is mounted?

Maybe I am confused. I thought the tank mounted on the driver's side. I did not get any kind of instructions with this tank and this is my first AD truck. Please forgive the ignorance. And thanks.

Anyone know if the holes for the mounts were drilled into the frame of a 1950 3100 or did they stop doing that when they brought the tanks into the cab?

Now this is a good question, I have a 50ish frame I plan on putting a 47-48 tank on too, I have the brackets and tank. If no one throws the info you need at you I can see if there is a place to bolt those brackets.

I went out and looked and it doesn't appear that the 50ish frame has the holes to bolt the brackets on. There is one hole on the bottom of the inside of the rail on the rear bracket that does look like it lines up. If this is the case that would make it much easier to locate and drill the other holes.

Update - I remembered I have the 47-54 Factory Assembly Manual. It has a great photo which is very helpful on tank placement.
