Affixing Antennae for radio
 

Hi - my '75 has an antennae in the windshield and there is a small copper wire at the bottom sticking from the windshield above the dash. Coming from the dash there is a rubber antennae protrusion which clearly needs to be stuck TO the shield. Question is : Does the copper pin from the windshield need to be connected INTO the rubber antennae extension or is it just placed against it?
