Since fan shroud is out now and in good condition, anything to do besides scrub down? Armorall, clearcoat, ?

Re: shroud restore
depending on the type of plastic you might have to prime first, if your going to apply any type of coating ,if you were going to clear coat , I would epoxy prime first , you might even need to use a adhesion promotor again depending on the plastic. they are also plastic restore products out there like for ATV plasticc but again you need to know what type of plastic you are dealing with , you might want to have this thread moved over to the paint section, the body and paint guys could give you a better idea in how to do this.

Re: shroud restore
Personally I would never paint a fan shroud. They clean up really good, and if you desire to, put on a plastic/vinyl protectant.

Re: shroud restore
Since my shroud was an old one I scuffed it up and painted it satin black. It turned out great.

Harry, wash it with soap and water, dry and spray some WD-40 on it, step back and see if you like the shine....What are you building anyway?

I cleaned mine thoroughly then used Son Of A Gun Protectant. Just wipe it on, don't let it soak too long and wipe it off. Shroud looks better than new. I did basically the same with my underhood A/C 'box". with the same result.
