Captain, I've been absent from the 60-66 world a bit, missed your production of this kit. Beautiful work as always.

I think I voided the warranty on my bracket. :) It's too cold to work outside so I spent an hour on the kitchen island with sandpaper smoothing the driver's side interior corner and passenger side exterior corner welds to get it ready for powder coat. Looks real good. I love sexy tig welds, but now it looks like it was carved by the gods. Said it before, but kudos to your welding ability, no undercut and good penetration.

Yes that does look good. Post another pic after you get it powder coated.

Hi all,

In my search for a brake booster to use with this kit, I stumbled across Tuff Stuff, who make a variety of boosters in different diameters (single and dual), plus they come in a bunch of different colours.

I emailed them to ask what the bolt pattern on the firewall side was, and got a response that included the following chart. The email also explained that the mounting studs are on a 3 3/8" square pattern.

After a quick trip to the garage with a tape measure, I'm preeetty sure these will work, but I thought I'd run it by the man himself first.

Thoughts, CaptainFab?

I can't edit my post above for some reason, so here's the link to the boosters.

The booster hole pattern in all of my booster brackets is 3-3/8" x 3-1/2". To use a aftermarket universal booster with the 3-3/8" x 3-3/8: stud pattern, you simply need to elongate the holes slightly with a round file.

Get the bracket in raw steel. Open the holes then paint.

All of my booster brackets now come with slotted booster mounting holes to also accept aftermarket universal boosters with the 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" center to center mounting studs.

Pictures always help. 62 chevy suburban. I love this setup. only thing I had to do was add 2 washers to the block to change the angle for clearance for the large pedal spring. Keep up the great work Capt.

I am officially notifying everyone that I will be on vacation from 02-05-18 thru 02-13-18. I will do my best to get all orders built and shipped before I leave, if placed by 01-31-18. Orders placed while I am gone will be built and shipped in order of receipt of payment once I return. Thanks for understanding.

So I get this bracket, provide my own booster and clutch cylinder? What clutch cylinder do you recommend? I have a brake booster and master cylinder from a 97 S-10. Is there anything needed down on the transmission?

Re: '63-'66 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

Also if I buy this and your power steering bracket do you combine shipping?

Captainfab 02-17-2018 12:06 AM

Re: '63-'66 Power Brake Booster Bracket With Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

You must provide the brake booster and master cylinder you wish to use. I typically supply the correct clutch master for your application just as described and shown in post #1. You must have some sort of slave cylinder and mounting bracket on the bellhousing to be able to take advantage of the hydraulic clutch conversion. One option is to use a '84-'91 truck bellhousing which has a factory hydraulic clutch.

Yes I always combine shipping when possible.

The Wilwood clutch masters went up in price again, so I had to raise my price on this conversion.

Everything looks awesome and shipping was super quick. Before I powder coat anything, I have a question.

I received my kit today. I am a few weeks away from installing, but was looking over the pictures and everyone's input. Pictured are what I received (along with the bracket and clutch MC). Forgive me if I missed something but is the piece in the lower right hand corner new for the 63-66 install? I have only seen it for the 67-72 trucks.

Thanks!
