Crew cab build

New to the forum. I’m looking for a shop or a individual to build a crew cab.
I have seen rtech has the cab for 15k, trying to see if I can find a shop or individual that can do it for cheaper or buy some ones project. Also I wouldn’t mind just a 3 door out of a suburban if some one has the skills to do this aswell. Pm if anyone can point me in the right direction or post it up any info here thanks and I am in Texas but wouldn’t mind sending the project out of state .

15K is reasonable if you've ever taken on a project of that magnitude

Yes he does good work, but at 15k for bare cab Plus finishing the body and cummins Allison combo around 30k+ I don’t want to spend that kind of money. I guess I’m looking for some ones project or a 3 door crew to keep cost down I guess. Just seeing if some one can point me in the right direction thanks for the help...

Re: Crew cab build

I honestly cant point you in the right direction. I'm sure you will find someone who can do it and perhaps save a few quid. But I would suggest you reconsider this r tech outfit, these guys have it down pat. I bet I will have at least 20k in parts alone on my little s.w.b. updates, and I would venture to guess many hundreds of hours, 4 dozen bandages, 35 or more 3 day backaches, you get the point. Then comes paint work...another $1000. in materials... tear it all down after the major bugs have been sorted out and spend another couple of hundred hours and hope I can make it look satisfactory.
My point is this. I think you'd be happier in the long run with the real McCoy. I looked at their truck called the "Duke" and for 75k, its a fair price.
Just my 2 sense. lol:mm:

Yeah no doubt they do good work. I wish I hit the powerball so I could buy one. Lol 😂. I was looking at “c10mar” 1971 crew cab build and he did the three door build and that truck looks badass. I would be happy with a cab like that

The factory ones come up for sale from time to time as do unfinished projects. Patience is the only cure for spending big cash. Here is an older link to these trucks.
And welcome aboard.

And then there is the grandaddy of all crewcabs

Widen your searching, Craig's list, ebay, facebook the C/10 forums. Become a premium member and post a Want to Buy thread. Use one of the Craig's list national search engines. Fortunately you are somewhat central in the country so shipping will be less of an issue.
Good luck.

Yeah I’ve been searching autotempest nation wide for a couple of weeks with no luck. I don’t have Facebook, Hopefully a member sees this thread that’s had a crew cab made by a shop or member some where

The crew cab builds can add up quick. It also takes several trucks to make them. I have been making mine for awhile, but don't have tons in it either so far. A Allison will need lots of room too. It's just time, you can build it if your patient. Good luck in your hunt. Trevor

Here is a link to a three door crew cab on Phoenix Craig list. If anyone can post the pictures that would be great. I can’t get my phone to post pictures right now.

Unfortunately it looks like our little part of the world suffered a hack and now the ability to download photos from outside sites is disabled. So we all have to go look at the ad.

Re: Crew cab build

I seen that truck today on Craigslist. Don’t like the way they did the cab and that’s not how I would want mine setup so I would be paying 16k for a a bad cab and bed

Bump........... some one has to know some body that does good metal work that can do a 3 door crew cab out of a suburban please help

Re: Crew cab build

What is your ballpark price for your build? Labor is what adds up on something like this. It’s also real easy to screw something up on something like these. With a Diesel and Allison, it might take a stronger frame as well. Lots of variables that makes almost all these builds unique.

Airjammer88 05-19-2018 09:48 PM

Re: Crew cab build

My plan is to buy a decent running 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban And cut the back half of the Burb off and stitch on back of a regular cab and then stretch the frame for a short wide bed. Want to spend 5k on a Burb probably another 5k to have some one do the cab and stretch the frame I supply parts..... that’s the ideal plan I was thinking

Re: Crew cab build

Everthing else I can do the cab build is really what I want done. C10mar the red crew short wide he built is a perfect example of how I want my cab to look like

Re: Crew cab build

5K for a decent and solid 3/4 4x4 burb and then another 5K to have someone convert it to a quality crew cab would definitely be ideal

Good luck on your search, they are out there hiding somewhere. I jumped on my extended cab 72 when I came across it.

Re: Crew cab build

Yeah should be a good build if I can find someone. Even a chop top shop in Texas can probably accomplish what I am after. if anyone can point me to a shop in Texas that does good metal work thanks.
