Starting the body work on the family Suburban. We've had the truck from day one, she's been up and down the whole East coast a few times, and been through six new drivers. Being a North East truck, she has a lot of rust. The inner and outer rockers, both quarts and wheel wells and some other stuff. This will be my first go at metal work, I've been spraying and doing plastic work on my other vehicles over the years, so I have that down. So onto the important stuff, the pics!

Getting ready to replace the inner/outer rockers on the Burban. Has anyone done this before? Any info to share that might help? Thanks

Anybody have some info or explain the difference from the pickup inner rocker and the suburban rocker. I understand how the pickup rocker goes in, but I'm confused how the Suburban should go in. Anyway, I was peeling off the outer rocker and come to find the kick panel comes down and out onto the inner rocker. Of course part of it is garbage, so I started to cut it out. Have a new kick panel coming in. Blue arrows are the floor and inner rocker, red arrow is the lower part of the kick panel.

Wish I could help! I haven't done rocker surgery before and don't know what differences may exist. Good to see it getting saved though.

Got all the rusted metal out, part of the floor, inner rocker, kick panel and outer rocker. Like a dope, I pulled the truck in and started tearing it apart. Right after I cut the kick panel out, I realized my welder won't reach! I have the A-pillar and floor supported, so I can't move the truck. I've been wanting an extension cord for my welder anyways! So just waiting on that and some Picklex-20. Got my Zero Rust in today so I'll be coating the insides of the panels. Just a few pics, everything cut out and throwing test fitting new stuff.
