Bike Resurrection

'67 Honda CL 160. Someone dropped this off at my house asked me if I could get it running.
I made no promises. It was parked in a wood shed in 1988, it took me a week of spraying "stuff" in the carbs before the slides would come out. Been running the left carb through the ultrasonic cleaner all day. We'll see if it's a hopeless case or not. I do like a change. |

Well, a couple rebuilt battery cables, another 5 hours of carb cleaning, new fuel line, a new condenser and some fresh Rotella 15w40.
Son of a gun, it light right off. First time that engine has ran since 1988. The thing sounded good. It still needs one of everything, but it lives again. That was easier than I expected. |

I revived this one for a guy back a few years ago. Been in a barn for about 20 years and at least 10 with the spark plug out. Never had one this stuck. Was his wife's first motorcycle. Old Hondas are hard to kill. |
