Complete engine / tranny combo WIW?

Ok guys, here is a tough one. I have a complete running, driving engine a tranny I am looking to sell but have no idea what to ask.

Engine- SB 350 with double hump heads, roller rockers, cam, high pressure (or high volume, can't remember)oil pump, Edlebrock carb, RPM Air Gap Intake, fuel pump, valve covers and air filter. Clutch fan and factory shroud, Hedman ceramic coated long tube headers, Powermaster polished alternator, polished water pump, polished plug wire looms, MSD HEI ignition, chrome oil pan, etc. I am sure the valve springs, push rods, and lifters have been changed but I don't know what they are. Same with the pistons. The motor was "built" and in the truck when I bought it and that is all I remember. The man I bought it from said it had about 25 thousand miles on the rebuild at that time ( he had used that motor in another truck) and I have put maybe another 5 thousand on it. It does smoke a little but not all the time. In the 3 years I have owned the truck, I put the fuel pump, carb, (used) and valve covers/ air filter on it.

Tranny- TH400 with shift kit and chrome pan. I was told that it was "built" by Cook Brothers racing in South Carolina. I did a Google search on them and they are a legit business. This is all I know about either of them.

The guy I bought the truck from seemed very honest and I have no reason to doubt anything he told me. The engine/tranny are in my truck and it runs/drives great. Both have some fluid leaks but nothing a couple of gaskets won't fix. The only reason for selling is I am going to put a LS motor w/overdrive tranny in it.

Comes complete with starter, alternator, power steering pump, fan and shroud. Tranny comes with a new kickdown harness.

So, what does the collective think this setup is worth? Please give me your honest opinions. Thanks,

around here, from your description, that combo would fetch somewhere between $500-$800

Thanks for the reply bigarmzz, the headers alone cost that much. I'm hoping I can get a little more than that.

Based on what it looks like and what you describe probably around $1500.

IMHO Sitting in your truck where a prospective buyer can start and drive it I would think it would be an easy 2K.
Once its out and its laying on your shop floor price will go down significantly.

^ what he said! I would at least try to sell it while it was in the truck first. A 350 crate motor alone from Jegs or Summit is over $2000 now and you still need a bunch of parts +a trans
