NP203 help?

hey guys i have a converted NP203 in my 76 K15 and when i first got the truck i could get it in 2H, N and 2L but neither 4 positons and after some wd40 i got it into 4H, that was about 7 or 8 months ago and i just recently took the truck through mud and pushed it pretty hard. i took the truck out of 4H and let it sit over night now the truck wont go into 4H again but can go into 2h, 2l, and N

More WD40. Happens to me after any serious mud run. That's why I keep a can in the truck.

ditto.

the linkage on those things sucks.

if you have a removable hump, lift it up and rebuild your linkage

Re: NP203 help?

Yeah, but it's really not so much of a rebuild as it is a clean-up and possibly adjust. They are rather complex for a simple thing.
Just removing, disassembling, cleaning (mud and caked grease), re-lube and assemble.

It's not a big deal, less than an hour......but, if you intend to use it frequently, it makes sense to look into a "twin-stick" conversion. About half way down the page of this link. http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog...seshifters.htm

Or just spray a healthy dose of WD40 down the shifter boot and go on about your business.
