Wheel Vintiques 16x8

What do you guys think of staying with the black powder coated wheel or should I powder coat them white? My truck is an original solid red-orange (hugger) K20. I've seen lots with the stock white steel wheels but am leaning towards staying with the black.:m6:

I vote white.

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
Whichever you prefer really. I just got my set of 15x8 steelies for my dark green Burb and I'm wondering if I should go dark green or white. Since my truck is all dark green, the white wheels with hubcaps might look silly - I haven't decided yet. My point being, some people like the black wheels and some people like the white ones - they both look good to me. You need to pick the one you like best and get 'er done.

I like the black also. :metal:

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
The white always looks good , with a chrome or SS cap , black wheels look good with the painted silver or white cap or no cap .

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
Can't go wrong with black and chrome :metal:

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
Now that's a coincidence, I have a picture of your truck saved from when it was listed on eBay. Did you send up selling it? I sent you a message about the suburban you had just found.

Very nice!
I really like black with the type of cap you have. Really black or white look great on the 67-72 trucks. Has a lot to do with the trucks paint scheme. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
Wheel Vintiques Style 82. They are well made and have a 4" backspacing for the 8" wheel. The 10" has a 5" backspacing.
Summit has a sale with free shipping, so at $106 apiece, it was too hard to pass up. Quote:

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
The black looks good. I ended up powder coating white because of my paint scheme. Either looks good, especially with that cap.

I think white is the way to go

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
Either would look good, but if it was mine, white! Since you already have the tires mounted and all, I say drive it around on the black wheels for a while, then decide if you like it or not.

Back in the day about all I saw were black with no caps. It's a tough truck look and I like it. The white looks great with no caps as well. I like black with no cap and white either way. But,white looks best on a truck that has white paint, especially a two-tone. Here's black open on an '84 with solid paint:

Re: Wheel Vintiques 16x8
I would go with the black for me personally it looks more tougher. :bling2:But if you we're going to make it a stock looking I would go with the white.

Here is the truck. I ordered a 2" lift to compensate for the sagging original springs. I am running 285/75R16 BFG A/T.
