Do they salt the roads in Virginia?
Navy said I have to go to Virginia. Debating on storing my truck in California or taking it with me? Wondering what the weather will do to it since I"ve always lived in California.

Yes the roads are salted here. You're probably going to the coast, and I live in the SW, in the mountains. I'll move this to GD for ya.

Uh, leave it in California if you can. Buy a beater in Virginia to drive.

Re: Do they salt the roads in Virginia?
Well, the Farmer's Almanac is calling for another snowy winter here, so I'd vote for getting a beater.

Out on the coast you wont reallly have to worry about it much.

Re: Do they salt the roads in Virginia?
If you are going to be in the Tidewater (Hampton Roads area), you will be fine, but if you will be in Northern VA or any other part of the state...get a beater.
I've lived here for 18 years and I've seen salt on the roads one time in TW. When it gets that bad, they shut everything down anyway. |

Here in the southwest VA mountains they are salted heavily. Nothing harder on a vehicle.
