M1008 cucv

I fantasize about getting a 4x4 one day, but I barely make it off-road into the parking lot.

How good of a base 4x4 is the CUCV. From what I know it is likely the strongest one I could start with. The only down side is the leaf springs, but they can be swapped out. Or softened up for better ride, and better articulation.

They have some good and bad the good is 1 ton axles the bad no ac none power windows locks. If your talking about the front springs look in to the b52 swap you use rear leafs in the front they are longer and ride better.Take a look at http://diy4x.com/ they sell the kit to do the b52 swap.
