Cab Mounts?
Who has switched to Poly cab mounts and what do you think of them? I know they are stiffer but wondering if that is good thing since it might lead to more vibration and noise in the cab. If they are harder and you don't also switch the box mounts it might result in a small vertical misalignment. Just wondering.

I have recently switched to poly cab mounts on a 72, and notice no difference in ride/noise qualities, but my truck does sit and steer better

griesel, Did you change everything to poly...i.e. front suspension, sway bar, and shock bushings too? Thanks.
|
yep, did everything, it was almost cheaper to change all at once. would recommend them for your truck

I have poly cab mounts and the only thing i can tell you is they look good. I havn't driven it yet but i also changed everything to poly when i got the lift kit which also came with poly bushings and shock mounts. I have several friends that have the poly cab and suspension mounts and love them.

Bought new rubber bushings from a Chevy dealer in 1991. They were already deformed and starting to disentegrate when I replaced them in 1995 with Prothane poly bushings. Eight years later my poly bushings still look like new. I don't remeber feeling any difference in ride quality.

I put in all poly bushings and likem. I don't have squeaks or rattles after almost a year so I say go for em. Did notice a little difference in ride(very little) its more sports car than it was but thats what I was going for. Feels more solid now.:bowtie:
