1978 Factory Tach Conversion...GM Sport Combo Gauge is no longer an option

I have scrolled through past threads and do not see where my specific application was addressed. I have a factory clock gauge in the lower left corner and the fuel gauge to the right. I have seen this addressed where folks have the idiot light in the lower left and fuel to the right.

As of today GM Sports no longer sells the Tach/Fuel combo gauge. The story is the gentleman that made those has passed away. This was a solution for allot of us. I know I used one in the past on another project.

So this brings me to today. I know I'll need a big tach and a small fuel gauge, but will I need to replace my cluster and printed circuit board? If so to which orientation? Which wires need to be swapped around?

Has anyone done my application in the past?

Thanks in advance!

c-40 c-50 c-60 trucks had tack with lower fuel all in 1 . but i know the rpm might be a bit less and make sure its from a v8 and not diesel .

LMC sells the small fuel gauge that can go in the quad area & a reproduction tach for where the large diameter fuel gauge is.....

I've had their small gauge in place since the swap in my dually & it's worked w/o issue (4yrs now).

SCOTI,

I seem to remember reading a thread where you used the GM Sports Tach from their kit (for the 7000 RPM) then used the LMC fuel gauge because of the font on it? Can't find the thread with the write-up.

Is that correct?

Looks like it's only the 5000 RPM's for now ;-(

Correct. I used only the tach from the GM Sports kit. The quad gauge set-up they sent had mis-matching fonts (2x pre-80 & 2x post 81). WTH? I had already found the tach & gas gauge through LMC but wanted a tach w/more range vs. the 5k they offered. The info is in my dually build thread (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=640843)
