now i am working on the tub. It was covered in this thick clay like dirt and undercoating on the bottom so i scraped it off with a scraper.

I replaced the inner rockers, front floor supports, lower a pillars, rockers, and front quarter panels. I also had to fabricate lower b pillars and repair that rocker box tie in brace thingy.

still working on the blazer. I havent been good at keeping this up to date so i'll post up the few pictures i have taken.

I discover that inside the cowl area was more rotted that i originally thougt so i cut all the spot welds and did some repair. Also this water diversion channel was toast so i fabed up some new pieces and painted the whole thing while it was apart. I dont have any shots of it painted though(i tend to get working and forget pics)

after the cowl was finished id assembled everthing. I had to do some mods to the new femder on the drivers side it didnt match the curve of the door. also i had to enlarge the holes in the radiator support and the grill because the holes did not line up with the repop fenders.

My self inflicted wound has pretty much healed and have gotten some work done as a result. I replaced the inner door bottoms. The patch pannel for these fit poorly. It took lots of work to get everthing to line up right.

What are you doing to prevent damage to the body panels when you tip the body on it's side to work on the undercarriage? Seems like a good way to get access if it doesn't do the body panels harm.

Good looking truck and good progress!

Wanderlusty: I got the idea from a pic i saw one here. Its so simple and works great its just 2 peices of box tubing welded in a "L" shape with some exhaust tubing welded to the top to even out the spacing between the dolly's and the tub. I used a cherry picker to tip it up and put a strap on top to make sure it didnt tip to fast once it got over the center of gravity. I'll try to remember to get better pics for ya but they are on the tub in this pic also you can see the nylon strap on the top.

oldblue1968chevy, 1956cameo, splehigh, Wanderlusty thanks for the encouragement! I'm terribly slow at bodywork and i dont really like it so its taking me forever so the kind words help alot.

still chugging along on the blazer project. I'm trying to get all the big parts painted before the snow flies. Painted the dash and inside of the windshield frame earlier this month. Next i sanded off the rattle can primer i was using to keep it from rusting while i worked and put on etch primer and epoxy sealer. Then my girlfriend and I built this paint booth out of plastic.

Finally put some color on this thing last weekend. I put it on the frame and pushed it outside yesterday, It's been 4+ years since the tub has been on the frame. I need to wetsand and buff the clear its got some orange peel but overall i'm happy. Now off to work so i can get the doors, fenders, and other bits painted.
