Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
You can look at 73-87 winch bumpers, too, since they will work

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
Tactical armor group makes some too.
|
Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
Never buy from tactical armor they take months and send you junk in the end.Look up reviews on them,It ranges from a tire carrier breaking off fully to d ring mounts crooked bad.

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
I always make my own. I just don't have any pictures. It's insane what people pay for these fabbed bumpers and I rarely see one I like...too busy

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
I bought a Reunel for my 01 Ram. Yes it was expensive. I loved it, was spending a lot of time around Tahoe so I really wanted a deer bumper. But I'm going to make one for my K20. I have plans in my head for features I want. But I buy winch mounts a lot with using stock bumpers.

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
I like the look of a stock bumper with a winch behind it, so the cable comes out underneath it.

Here are some pics of mine we built. A friend of mine builds custom bumpers for a living. I have never posted photos on here so hopefully they show up.

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
You can't put that ford here!
|
Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
Sure he can. After all, this is the "All 4wd & Tech Forum". One of the favorite threads in here covers "all makes" of vintage 4wds. No problem with the Jeep in here?
|
Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
Very true, ever looked at it as the all 4x4 tech forum. Honestly I didnot even notice the jeep, the 69-70 was taking all the awesome.
|
Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
Most of us on here love all older 4x4s no matter the brand.

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
Jeeps are badass!.........once you put a Chevy drivetrain in them :metal:. My first 4wd was a '69 Dodge W200. All I heard was Ford vs Chevy/Chevy vs Ford and I thought "What about Dodge...IH?". This was back in '77. If anyone started into me about my Dodge I'd set them straight with the facts. "Your Ford and your Chevy and my Dodge all have Dana axles, New Process transmission and transfer case, and Spicer U-joints and we're all out here having fun". I did like the fact that my Dodge had a body design from '61 standards, very stout. But it was rusted bad enough at that young age that I did a frame-off restoration and parts were already a pain to get. I built my first bumpers on that truck. Just 4" tube. Never did get a winch, but it was made to accept one

Re: pics of 67-72 winch bumpers
so, since the jeep is mostly gm under the green, i'll show the bumper the same idea or design could be adopted for a 67-72.
its just 2"x6"x.125" rec. tube. mitered and welded with a plate for a winch. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...5/100_1072.jpg here is a hint of what is going on the green k20 http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l8...psbo8fz0ld.jpg |
