front leaf spring frame mounted bracket

hey all,
I have a 1958 Chevy pickup and I want to know what the frame mounted bracket for the front leaf springs are made of. I'm thinking about doing a little welding and if its cast steel I will weld her in, but if its cast iron I will bolt it.

they are cast steel so weldable :metal:
