Sacramento AUTORAMA Feb 17-18
I have a pair of passes for the drive-in show that I may not be using for my truck NEXT WEEKEND... If anybody with a 55-59 CHEVY 3100 truck is interested in them then let me know.

The pass for each day includes Driver and Guest, and vehicle parking inside main gate picnic show area from 8:00AM - 4:00PM / Access to whole show areas and vendors.

I would like to go 1 day - but the other is all yours with your own guest.

I was thinking about making a trip down for the weekend but my back pay and retirement funds are still in limbo. I'll be at the Portland roadster show though.

Well I ended getting the truck going enough for now to get off a trailer and get in the show.... So we were there... front and center!

Had a pretty nice response from everybody that wandered by and took a gander at it. Its no show queen by any means, but people liked it. ;)

The hood definitely took a few by surprise when they realized what they were looking at.

Inside there were MANY FINE GM TRUCKS! and others....

I saw your truck there PTC, yes it is very nice. I dig the show, have a good time every time I go. These aren't what we talk about here but a few "trucks" that were interesting.

The first one I have to wonder if the guy really made this out of a Nomad, he told me personally that he did, I had a hard time not punching him in the face. :D To make something like that out of a NOMAD you would have to be mentally ill. It was nice, but not nice enough to ruin a Nomad. Hope he was lying, the photos in his book showing the making of it never snowed a Nomad before as the photos show it into the work a ways, maybe it was started years ago when a Nomad wasn't worth as much, but it was ALWAYS a special car so I don't care if it was done in 1970, if it was a Nomad someone needed to be punched in the throat.

Did I mention it ticks me off to think it may have been a real Nomad?:sumo:

The Studebaker truck is a favorite of mine when ever I see it, very cool.

The Semi truck was friggin AWESOME! I had a nice conversation with a beautiful lady while I was standing there looking at that. She said to me "Excuse me, am I right, those are Mustang taillights?" LOL She was kinda embarrassed to ask, I about cracked up when I saw that it is exactly what they are, what an eye she has, she was so cute telling me how she grew up with her dad having Mustangs and she thought that is what they were.

This one had a cool story, owned by the same family since new. The tail gate was the original removed from the truck when it was restored.

I saw a lot of photos on various sites and sure wish I had been able to make the trip. Hopefully a lot of the same cars will be at the Portland Roadster show next month. I'll make that one camera in hand this year. Last year was the first I missed in years.

Yeah, I love the indoor shows with the REAL "Show cars" up on chromed jack stands with mirrors under them. My brother came in first in his class with his Crosley motorcycle and 3rd in his class with his 1922 Buick Roadster.

His son came in second with his pedal car. I have no idea why he didn't paint the grille and bumper, it wold have easily made first.

Had a great time for sure. A friend of mine was playing drums in the Rock-a-billy band.
