New to me 86 C20 Diesel
5 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, just wanted to show off my latest craigslist score. I got this 86 C20 with a 6.5 diesel swap and a banks turbo kit for only $1000 delivered. Pretty good deal I think. He says his daughter ran it hot and it started to smoke and run rough. Parked immediately and no attempt to fix it has been made. Has been sitting since 2015. Im trying to figure out what the issue is. Havent tried starting it yet. He suspected the head gaskets blew. Tho theres no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant. Any who on to the pics

Hard to tell in that last pic but there is coolant in the radiator, its like 2/3s full. Nice and clean.

Brand new tires. Interior can use some work. Sadly the good factory radio isn't there

Re: New to me 86 C20 Diesel
Not sure how close the cylinders are on a diesel but I have seen a head gasket on a 350 split between two cylinders due to an overheat. No coolant leak or oil in the wrong place but two poorly running cylinders.

I’ve been trying to do some research as it’s my first diesel. Going to check compression then put a pressure gauge on the radiator. I’ve read they can release compression into the coolant
