Factory wheel?I.D. please.

My 68,C-10 has wider wheels on the back. They are 8" where the fronts are 7".
The rears look just like the fronts painted argent silver, just wider.
I'd like to know the origin so I can hunt for 2 more for the front.

Anybody got an answer?
Thanks,Mike.:chevy:

Most of the ones I’ve seen have come on military Blazers. You can look at swap meets or on the Parts boards. Several different versions. Yours look like 4 nub that will work with disc brakes. Your front are probably only five or 6 inches wide. Never seen any 7”.

I think the standard 71+ K5/10 wheel is 15x6 and the optional is 15x8.25. 71+ K5/10 wheels were 6 lug, 4 nub, and cleared disk brake calipers. Most of the optional wider K5/10 steelies I've seen were on Blazers also it seems, but they were available on any 1/2 ton 71+ 4x4. A few aftermarket places make them or close replicas, wheel vintiques, etc.

I didn't actually measure the fronts.Just a guess. But,they are my problem. I like my 235 tires, but the front rims are too narrow for 235's.

Jocko,I did try to measure the rears and I got 8.25, but rounded it off to 8.
I may end up using some 6 lug truck rally's I have and try to put my wheel covers on them.

Re: Factory wheel?I.D. please.

There were no wide wheels offered by GM in 15". The only wider wheel option was the 16.5 x 8.25s for mounting the 10.00 x 16.5 flotation tire option. Not sure those were available on C/10s, but they were on K/5 & K/10, so 6-lug. You either have aftermarket, like Kelsey Hayes, 15 x 8s or factory option from later in the '70s. You can buy this size wheel new from Wheel Vintiques now. They also offer them in 7". As Uncle mentioned, no 7" wheels were offered from factory. Wheel width is measured between the inner bead surfaces with no tire mounted.
